Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center has implemented the “We Are Here” program, which started on October 1, 2001.

Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center serves 6 counties in central South Dakota.  We provide services to victims in Jones, Haakon, Hughes, Hyde, Stanley and Sully. Since we know it is difficult for victims living in rural areas to come to Pierre, we have established satellite offices in our outlying counties.  This outreach program is called “We Are Here”. One day, each month, our satellite offices are staffed with an advocate who is available to meet with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault in person, discuss with a concerned friend how she/he can be of help to someone in an unhealthy relationship and give presentations to schools or community groups on domestic violence, sexual assault, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, bullying and elder abuse.
