A poem on Childhood Sexual Abuse

-by Jvonne Heard

As I lie in my bed with my covers pulled tight

I pray “Oh Lord, please don’t let tonight be the night.”

He then opens my door saying “Don’t be afraid,  you know I love you, need I say more!”

I lie there with fear running through my mind,

just praying he won’t make me touch his behind.

He sits down beside me telling me her cares.

And at the same time he begins caressing my hair.

I lie in bed still pretending to sleep just praying I wouldn’t become ill.

As my covers disappear with his hands on my body I just shout in my head “Oh God, is the end almost near?”

His mission is complete as he walks out of my room

Just leaving me lie there in a state of defeat

As I lie in my bed with my covers pulled tight

I pray “Oh Lord, please don’t let tonight be the night.”
